INDIVIDUAL EVALUATION PROCESS

Individual evaluation process refers to a comprehensive screening and assessment of a child right after admission. The result of an evaluation supports in clinical decision making and to determine the services or programs a child requires.... An evaluation includes various assessment tools and strategies covering different developmental, social, cognitive, speech and language skills and domains that depicts a child’s type of disorder, his functional level and learning difficulties and how those difficulties affect his or her participation and progress in the general educational curriculum. A comprehensive assessment report is given to caregivers after 2-3 weeks after admission.

PRE-SCHOOLING/EARLY INTERVENTION

The mission of early childhood intervention is to assure that children, who are at risk of physical, cognitive, social, emotional and pre-linguistic skills in critical early years, receive coordinated services by all rehabilitation experts such as ...speech pathologist, occupational therapist, special education teacher and behavior therapist. The goal of early intervention for an exceptional child is, to enhance his overall development and to maximize the child's potential so that he or she can be moved to the system of main stream schools. 

SPEECH THERAPY

It includes screening, evaluation and therapeutic intervention of all types of speech and language delays and disorders. It provides targeted, evidence-based therapeutic strategies ...for stammering, articulation disorders, voice disorders, phonological errors, autism, learning disabilities, delay speech, hearing impairment, down syndrome, ADHD and other developmental disorders. While working with a small child, a speech pathologist considers to focus on pre-linguistic skills and early intervention strategy to accomplish maximum communication goals in future.

BEHAVIOR THERAPY

It comprises of individualized care and attention to children while using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavior modification techniques. Behavior therapists perform assessments, create individual ... treatment plans from mild skills to high functioning level skills and tasks that are appropriate and tailored to the needs of the child. They carry out treatment plans and provide services that relate to motor skills, cognitive skills, imitation skills, command following skills, social skills, self-help skills and evaluate child’s progress accordingly.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION/ INTERVENTION

Psychological services entail development and grooming of child’s behavioral and mental health.  It includes administering and interpreting psychological tests for diagnosis of various disorders like ...Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities and other Developmental, psychological and Behavioral Disorder. A psychologist ensures provision of friendly and pleasant environment through collaborative activities for children that are age appropriate and according to the functioning level of the child. It also includes counseling, consultation, training and educational services for parents as well for better prognosis and management of the disorder.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapists aim to work on mobility and quality of life through examination, prognosis, and physical intervention by applying evidence-based maneuvers and equipment.  They provide services... to children/ people having movement difficulties like cerebral palsy and similar physical impairments and functional problems that are threatened by aging, injury, disease, or any other environmental factors.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapists provide services that relate to self-help skills, adaptive behavior, and sensory, motor, and postural development. They work with those who are suspected of having disabilities... that interfere with their ability to perform daily life activities and unable to participate in necessary or desired occupations. They adapt and modify the environment using assistive technology and daily life tools and equipment to meet individual needs and to help people function as independently as possible.

FOCUSED ACADEMIC SUPPORT (IEP’S)

Academics in Hope Inn are adapted to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities or special needs. We focus on providing individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's specific... challenges and strengths. The curriculum includes customized booklets, specialized teaching methods, AAC technologies such as interactive Board and additional support services like speech therapy, ABA and occupational therapy, to help students succeed academically. Most of our students have been referred to mainstream education.

SELF HELP SKILLS/ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING (ADL’s)

Self-help skills refer to the abilities and activities that individuals can perform independently to meet their daily needs and improve their overall well-being. These skills can include various... aspects of personal development and self-care like Personal Hygiene, washing, toilet training, brushing teeth and grooming, eating independently, concept of belongings and pragmatic skills.
